1.Trafalgar Square

There are fountains and statues and interesting buildings in Trafalgar Square. People in London go to Trafalgar square to celebrate Newly Year

2. Buckingham palace

Queen Elizabet II has several homes. But when she is in London, she lives in Buckingham palace. There are 775 rooms in the palace of this total, 240 are bedrooms and 78 bathrooms!

3. Big Ben

The palace of Westminster is the seat of the British parliament. Big Ben is the name of the bell in the palace's clock tower. The bell is big and the clock is big too! The hands of the clock are 2.7 and 4.3 metres long!


4. St. Paul's cathedral

This cathedral was built in the 1600s. It's large done was inspired by the dome of Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome. Many famous British people are buried there. Today many musical events are celebrate Inside the Cathedral.

5. The tower of London

There are many historic events related to the tower of London. The tower was used as a palace but also as a prison, and King Henry VIII beheaded one of his six wives there. In the 14th century, the crown jewels started to be kept in the tower, and they are still there today.

6. The gherkin

This is a modern tower of London which was opened only five years ago. It has the six tallest blurs and is forty fielding in London. Just a year later a similar building was opened in Barcelona


7. The London eye

The big wheel is the 135 metres high and it's the largest in Europe. It rotates at 26cm per second so one revolution takes about 30 minutes. Because it moves so slowly, it does, not normally, stop for people to get on and off.

8. Tower bridge

This bridge is on the river Thames. it was completed in 1884. A total of 432 construction workers took eight years to build the bridge. The bottom part of bridge opens and closes so that big ships can go up and down the river.
